At Mama Yali’s, every dish is more than food—it’s a gesture of love. From handmade pork buns inspired by family tradition to freshly prepared dim sum shared with our community, we bring people together through flavors that comfort, connect, and celebrate. Our goal is simple: to share the warmth of our family’s kitchen with yours.
Love Meets Tradition
After a hard day's work by the whole family, some having studied for tests, others having worked long hours, Yali likes to cook them their favorite dish – freshly steamed pork buns, or bao buns. They’re the same style buns her parents and grandparents made for her in China and carry with them a warm tradition of love, joy and happiness. As time goes on, bao buns can always be counted on to bring the whole family together no matter where they are in life.
Sharing Love Through Food
Yali has always been a loving mother and giving member of her local Chinese community. In 2021, as the pandemic continued to bring spirits down within her community, Yali and her supportive husband decided to extend their family tradition by selling freshly made pork buns, or bao buns, in farmers' markets in their hometown of Santa Rosa, CA. A portion of the funds goes back to serving her community.
After the initial success during the first year, Yali and her family continue to offer bao buns as well other Chinese treats for all families to enjoy in 2022 and beyond.
